    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form a fan beam having beam width equivalent to half-open aperture when the operation of antenna element is turned off physically, while a phase shifter is always turned on, when switching between a pencil beam and the fan beam. SOLUTION: The phase shifters 12 connected to antenna elements 11 of 100 ports, respectively form beams in a predetermined direction, by adding the predetermined phase-shift amount to high frequency from a high-frequency feed circuit 13 according to phase-shift amount instructed from a scan controller 14. Mode information for instructing beam orientation and full open aperture/half-open aperture from a radar apparatus body is given to the scan controller 14. In the scan controller 14, when the scan angle is given, the phase distribution based on the scan angle is found, the phase-shift amount θ m to each phase shifter 12 is set; it is then decided whether it is a fully open aperture or a half-open aperture; the phase-shift amount, is decided as a phase-shift amount [deg] to 100 ports, as it is when it is a fully open aperture; and further a random phase-shift amount ϕ n is given to an unnecessary port when it is a half-open aperture.
