The first storage section stores the video data comprising the plurality of video elements each with the file meta-information attached by the compilation section. The second storage section stores an index table including the time axis information corresponding to the video elements. The reproduction section reproduces corresponding video elements in the video data by reference to the index table. The reconstruction section reconstructs the index table according to the video data in the first storage section if a fault occurs in the index table in the second storage section.
