Switches 17 and 20 are so structured as to cut off a conductive passage between the active material layer and the lead terminal when the temperature of the electrode group rises; and are mounted to at least either of the active material layer non-forming part of the collector positioned between the active material layer of the positive electrode and the reed terminal, and that positioned between the active material layer of the negative electrode and the reed terminal.
