    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To loosen an electric field in a lightning impulse withstand voltage test, and improve insulation reliability and compactness by providing a non-linear resistance material on an inner face of an insulation container.SOLUTION: A high voltage side stationary electrode 6 is provided at an upper part of an inner surface 11 of an insulation container 5, and a ground side stationary electrode 7 is provided at a lower part of the inner surface 11 of the insulation container 5. A non-linear resistance material 13 is applied to the inner surface 11 of the insulation container 5 until it is continued to the high voltage side stationary electrode 6 and reaches the ground side stationary electrode 7. The high voltage is necessarily applied to the non-linear resistance material 13 when the high voltage is applied to the high voltage side stationary electrode 6 during a lightning impulse withstand voltage test. Accordingly, the resistance material 13 reliably actuates a non-linear resistance characteristic, and therefore, an electric field strength heightened at a peripheral section 10 of the high voltage side stationary electrode 6 can be reduced.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a built-in type arrester provided with one sheet of zinc oxide elements that can keep thermal stability, suppress a non-uniform electric field and prevent a concentration of a current.
      SOLUTION: An internal element having non-linearity resistance is housed in a nearly cylindrical insulation container, and a high-voltage electrode is connected to its one end and a ground electrode to the other end, respectively, by means of a spring. The high-voltage electrode is connected with a high-voltage side in a switch, and the ground electrode is connected with a ground side in the switch. In the built-in type arrester having such a configuration, the internal element is formed of one sheet of a zinc oxide element with metallic spacers on it both ends, and the zinc oxide element has an electric field of 450 V/mm or higher when a current of 1 mA is applied. The thickness of the metallic spacer is 10% or larger of that of the element, and its diameter is 95% or smaller of that of the element. The metallic plate is wound around at a plurality of places so as to cover upper and lower ends of the spring.
