    • PURPOSE:To protect an induction motor from an overload due to the temperature rise of the motor by setting the characteristic pattern exhibiting the relationship between a primary current and the motor speed and comparing the pattern with the actually measured value to detect the overload. CONSTITUTION:The characteristic pattern exhibiting the relationship between a primary current i1* and a motor speed omegar* is preset. The actually operating state is detected, and an overload signal is outputted from a comparator 8 or 9 when the primary current i1, and the motor speed omegar become the relationship of omegar i1*. The overload is detected by the signal, the power is then interrupted by the overload display or directly, thereby protecting the motor.

    • PURPOSE:To detect a load optically without receiving electrical noises, by making light projecting and receiving fibers face a reflecting mirror on a block with a specified gap being provided, and measuring the change in the amount of strain due to the load based on the change in the amount of received light due to the change in the gap. CONSTITUTION:A block 1 has pressure receiving surfaces 2a and 2b. In hole 3 of the block 1, detecting bodies 5 is fixed with a gap length L being provided. A reflecting mirror is bonded to the detecting body 5. A pair of light projecting and receiving optical fibers 11 and 12 are opened at the detecting body 5. The light from a light emitting element 15 is reflected by the reflecting mirror 6, inputted to a light receiving element 16 through the fiber 12, and detected by a correcting circuit 18. When the block 1 receives a load and is deformed, the gap length L is also deformed. the output of the received light from the correcting circuit 18 is changed accordingly, and the load corresponding to the amount of strain is deteted. Therefore, the load can be optically detected without the effect of electrical noises.

    • PURPOSE:To make it possible to sense the heated material having a broad temperature range by one sensor assuredly, by incorporating an amplifier, wherein the gain is automatically adjusted in response to the temperature of the heated material, into the heated material sensing device utilizing infrared ray. CONSTITUTION:The infrared ray irradiated from the heated material is converted into the electrical signal. Said signal is amplified by the amplifier wherein the gain is automatically adjusted in rsponse to the temperature of the heated material. When said electrical signal has reached a specified value, an output relay is actuated, and the sensing of the heated material is performed. For example, the infrared ray from the heated material 1 is received by a light receiving element 3 which is provided in a control chamber 19 through a lens 2 and optical fiber 9, and amplified by the amplifier 4. In the case the output exceeds a specified value, the output relay 6 is actuated through a Schmitt trigger 5, and the sensing of the heated material is performed. In this case, a switch 10 is actuated by an input 11 which is varied by the temperature of the heated material, and the gain of the amplifier is automatically adjusted. Thus the secure sensing can be performed.
