    • PURPOSE: To prepare a shadow mask base plate capable of obtaining a sharp image free from a doming phenomenon, by forging an invar type alloy having a face-centered cubic lattice structure and applying hot rolling to said alloy so as to allow a specific crystal surface to gather on a rolled surface.
      CONSTITUTION: After an invar type alloy having a face-centered cubic lattice structure is forged, hot rolling is applied to said alloy so that 35% or more, pref., about 40% or more of an {100} crystal surface gathers on a rolled surface. Thereafter, cold rolling is applied to the rolled alloy plural times if necessary so that the draft in the cold rolling does not exceed 50%/one time and strong processing is further applied to prevent the crystal direction of the rolled surface from shifting from the {100} surface. The above mentioned draft is pref. set to 10W30%. Next, heat treatment of strain removing annealing is applied to attain the stabilization of the {100} crystal surface to obtain a shadow mask base plate capable of obtaining an image receiving tube free from a doming phenomenon by providing electron beam passing apertures at high density with high accuracy.

    • PURPOSE:To simultaneously prevent rusting of iron and zinc serving as raw materials by applying the alloy plating of aluminum and zinc with specific composition to rim and tension bands and support metal fittings constituting an explosion-proof frame structure. CONSTITUTION:The alloy plating of aluminum and zinc is applied on the surface of an explosion-proof frame body. The composition of the alloy plating is set to 30-80% of aluminum and 70-20% of zinc. After such alloy plating is applied, at least black chromate or black coat is applied to the side 11 at the panel 1 side of a cathode-ray tube. The rust prevention of iron is performed with zinc and the rust prevention of zinc is performed with aluminum by containing aluminum in the zinc plating. As a result, both the red rust of iron and the white rust 5 of zinc is prevented from occurring.

    • PURPOSE:To improve moldability of curved surface of a shadow mask and prevent deformation thereof by specifying the crystal grain size of the shadow mask provided with many pinholes and mainly consisting of the Fe-Ni system alloy for both internal side and surface. CONSTITUTION:In a shadow mask having many pinholes to be used for a color picture tube, for example, the 36Ni invar steel alloy mainly consisting of Fe-Ni alloy, is used in order to set the crystal grain size specified by JIS to 7.0 or less for both inside and surface of the shadow mask. Thereby, moldability of curved surface of the shadow mask mainly consisting of Fe-Ni alloy can be improved assuring high precision and high quality surface grade being prevented from deformation and a color picture tube without deterioration of color purity can be obtained.

    • PURPOSE: To perform etching extremely effectively and securely, by perfoming etching for an amber material to be used for the shadow mask of a color image receiving tube by two times of operations by a specific method.
      CONSTITUTION: Photosensitive liquid is coated on both surfaces of an Ni-contg. thin steel sheet to be used for the shadow mask of a color image receiving tube and is dried. The thin steel sheet 11 produced by bringing a dry negative plate into tight contact with said steel sheet and subjecting the same to exposure, development, dewatering and hardening is spray-etched from both sides in the 1st etching tank 13 and the 2nd etching tank 14. The 1st etching in this case is accomplished at an ordinary etching speed and the 2nd etching at the etching speed smaller by 1/2W1/10 than the ordinary speed with the same etching liquid at the lower liquid temp. Nearly round holes 4 wherein the deviation 5 from complate roundness is extremely smaller than the value in the prior art, that is, ≤0.5μ are formed by etching.

    • PURPOSE:To avoid occurrence of the reduction or the blockade for the aperture obtained by etching the iron plate by manufacturing the shadow mask for the color CRT with the material of the low carbon steel vacuum-fused. CONSTITUTION:The raw material is put into the dissolving tank and dissolved in vacuum to obtain the ingot of the low carbon steel. This ingot is then rolled out to obtain the iron plate of a fixed thickness. The photosensitive film is formed on both surfaces of the iron plate; the plate containing the pattern for the shadow mask is provided on the photosensitive film; and the aperture is formed through the etching. Then the plate is annealed in the hydrogen current and then pressed to obtain the spherical surface with the blackening process applied then. With this method, a high-cleanliness steel is obtained, and the obstacles extending toward the rolling direction can be reduced greatly when the iron plate of a prescribed thickness is obtained through the necessary rolling process. As a result, such defects can be prevented for the aperture obtained through the etching as the reduction, blockade and others.

CONSTITUTION:By applying electrolytic polishing to a basis material mainly composed of iron and nickel, its surface is made to have excess iron in existence than the original iron composition ratio. This is caused by the fact that nickel ions on the metal surface layer are preferentially dissolved out and on the contrary anode-dissolved iron ions are deposited on the metal surface due to the difference of an anode dissolution speed and a diffusion speed between the iron ion and nickel ion. When an aimed oxidized film is formed on such an electrolytic polishing surface, the vicinity of the substrate approaches the state of the basis material mainly composed of iron, thereby its stress due to thermal expansion is applied via an intermediate layer and becomes comparatively gentle, thus obtaining a firm oxidized film with a sufficient thickness.

According to said method, the change of (q) value due to thermal distortion during the thermal process of a color picture tube can be reduced in order to check the change of color purity.
