    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide artificial leather with a suede tone that achieves the appearance of a melange tone without performing a complicated process.SOLUTION: The artificial leather is formed by applying an elastomer as a binder to a fiber sheet base body composed of an ultra fine fiber. A napping step of a surface portion of the sheet base body of the artificial leather, includes: suppressing a grinding amount of the surface portion; mixedly presenting a plush portion composed of the ultra fine fiber and an exposed portion of the elastomer in the surface layer; and generating a short plush fiber bundle that is not dispersed, in the surface layer. Accordingly, the artificial leather clarifies the boundary between the plush portion composed of the ultra fine fiber and the exposed portion of the elastomer in the surface layer to achieve the appearance of a melange tone.

      SOLUTION: The method for producing a sheet-like material containing microfibers having an average fiber diameter of 0.3-7 μm, a polymer elastic body and a woven or knitted fabric, includes (i) a step for providing a woven or knitted fabric with a water-soluble resin, (ii) a step for integrally entangling the obtained woven or knitted fabric with a microfiber-producing fiber made of two or more kinds of polymer substances having different solubilities in a solvent to prepare a sheet, (iii) a step for treating the sheet with a solvent to develop a microfiber having an average fiber diameter of 0.3-7 μm, impregnating the sheet with a solvent liquid of a polymer elastic body made of a polyurethane as a main component, solidifying the solvent liquid and providing the sheet with the polymer elastic body made of the polyurethane as a main component or impregnating the sheet with a solvent liquid of a polymer elastic body composed of a polyurethane as a main component, solidifying the solvent liquid, providing the sheet with the polymer elastic body composed of a polyurethane as a main component and treating the sheet with a solvent to develop a microfiber having an average fiber diameter of 0.3-7 μm.
