    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a production method of a sheet-like material having elegant piloerection and high compactness, which reduces the number of production steps and improves a shape-retaining property of the article during production.SOLUTION: The following steps (1) to (5) are carried out in this order: (1) a step of providing a fiber substrate having ultra fine fiber producible fibers as a main component with an aqueous resin solution for temporary fixing so that a temporarily fixing resin is provided in the amount of 0.05 to 10 mass% relative to a mass of the fibers; (2) a step of heating so that the temporarily fixing resin is transferred from both surfaces of the fiber substrate to a region of 0 to 20% in a thickness direction of the fiber substrate; (3) a step of developing ultra fine fibers of a mean single fiber diameter of 0.3 to 7 μm from the fiber substrate provided with the temporarily fixing resin; (4) a step of providing the fiber substrate which developed ultra fine fibers with polyurethane; and (5) a step of removing the temporarily fixing resin from the fiber substrate provided with polyurethane by buffing.
