Instead of forming the reflection preventing film, a minute projection recess cycle structure body can be formed on the prism face.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact and bright projection lens for small projector with satisfactory image performance, which reduces cost by using only about five lenses. SOLUTION: The projection lens includes, sequentially from a screen side to the imaging side: a first lens having negative refractive power and made of plastic; a second lens having positive refractive power and having its convex surface facing the imaging side; and a third lens having positive refractive power and having its convex surface facing the screen side. In the second and third lenses, one is made of the plastic and the other is made of a glass. The projection lens further includes: a fourth lens having negative refractive power and made of the plastic; and a fifth lens having positive refractive power. The projection lens is formed to be substantially telecentric toward the imaging side. Among the first lens made of plastic, the second and third lens made of plastic or glass, and the fourth lens made of plastic, at least one surface of the plastic lens is formed in an aspherical shape.     • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the constituting number of lenses so as to realize an inexpensive lens system, and to obtain a projection lens that is hardly influenced by temperature change and can include the wide angle of view excellently compensated in aberration, and that can be made compact and can be reduced in cost, by using an aspherical lens consisting of a plastic lens in the most part of the constituting lenses. SOLUTION: In this projection lens, a diverging lens group 1, a converging lens group 2 and a Fresnel lens group 3 are arranged from an enlarging side. Two negative lenses G1 and G2 on the front side of the lens group 1 are the lens consisting of plastic material and at lest one of them is made aspherical. The positive lens G5 and the negative lens G7 of the lens group 2 are the lens consisting of the plastic material. By using the lenses G1 , G2 , G5 and G7 consisting of the plastic material in a part of the constitution in such a way and correcting the shortcoming of the plastic lens, the power of each lens in the constitution is appropriately set.

At least one surface of the first lens group 1 is an aspherical shape, at least one surface of the fourth lens group 4 is an aspherical shape, by using the plastic material and forming the second negative lens group 2 and the fourth negative lens group 4 with the plastic material, the change of back focal length due to the change of a refractive index by the change of temp. is canceled and the deterioration of resolving power is suppressed.
