    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radiation curable resin composition with excellent reactivity, and a prepreg for molding a composite material and members comprising the resin and a fiber reinforcement usable especially in the aeronautical or space field, and especially, a resin composition having compression characteristics and interlayer shear strength superior to those of conventional ones and advantageous in terms of cost.
      SOLUTION: The radiation curable resin composition is provided, which comprises 100 pts.mass of a component (A) comprising an epoxy resin and/or an oxetane resin, 1-100 pts.mass of a modifier component (B), such as a thermoplastic resin, a non-amine-based coupling agent component (C), such as an epoxy-based silane coupling agent, and an initiator component (D), such as an iodonium salt type that generates an acid by radiation. The prepreg obtained by impregnating such a radiation curable resin composition into the fiber reinforcement and the composite material are also provided.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radiation-curable resin composition excellent in reactivity, and to provide a prepreg formed out of the resin composition and a fiber reinforcing material, especially, useful for forming a composite material or a component utilizable in aeronautic and space fields.
      SOLUTION: This radiation-curable resin composition comprises a resin component which comprises a combination of a resin (A) in an amount of 50-99 wt% and a resin (B1) and/or a resin (B2) in an amount of 50-1 wt%, and further the composition comprises a polymerization initiator (C) in an amount of 0.005-0.5 mol based on 1 kg of the resin component, wherein the resin (A) has a ring functional group having higher basicity when compared with that of a ring-opened product, the resin (B1) has a functional group comprising a compound having a strain energy of ≥80 kJ/mol as a ring monomer, the resin (B2) has a ring functional group having higher basicity when compared with that of a ring-opened product and further has relatively lower viscosity when compared with that of the resin (A), and the polymerization initiator (C) comprises a boron-based diaryl iodonium salt expressed by specific formula. The prepreg is obtained by impregnating the fiber reinforcing material with the resin composition.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a resin composition having improved toughness without damaging heat resistance, stiffness and moldability, and to provide a prepreg using the resin composition.
      SOLUTION: This resin composition comprises [A] an epoxy resin of 100 pts.mass, [B] a thermoplastic resin of 5-80 pts.mass, [C] diaminodiphenylsulfone of 20-50 pts.mass, and [D] an inorganic fine particle of 0.01-30 pts.mass whose mean particle diameter is 1-1,000 nm as main components. It is preferred that a microencapsulated diaminodiphenylsulfone coated by a coating agent is used as the component [C]. A thermoplastic resin particle [B-1] whose mean particle diameter is 1-50 μm, and a thermoplastic resin particle [B-2] whose mean particle diameter is 2-100 μm are used as the component [B]. A ratio of the mean particle diameter D2 of [B-2] to the mean particle diameter D1 of [B-1], D2/D1, is preferably ≥2.
