    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrostatic capacity coupling type detector, enabling only a desired switch by identifying an operator and preventing operation errors, and to provide an operator identification device and an operator identification method provided with the detector.
      SOLUTION: When a movable member 42 of a switch 4 is pushed, terminals 44 and 45 are short-circuited, and the potential of the terminal 45 becomes zero volt. A start-up part 51 of a processor 5 detects the drop of potential of the terminal 45, and starts a signal transmitting part 52. The signal transmitting part 52 transmits a signal to a driver's seat 2 and a front passenger seat 3, respectively. The signal transmitted to the driver's seat 2 and the front passenger seat 3 reaches to a determination part 55 of the processor 5 through a driver 21 and an occupant 31, via a detecting electrode 422 of the switch 4. The determination part 55 determines which of the driver 21 and the occupant 31 operates the switch 4 by reading values from current measuring devices 531 and 541.
