    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composite coil and a noise filter capable of obtaining inductance values required for both a common mode signal and a normal mode signal.
      SOLUTION: The composite coil has a core 10 and first to fourth windings 11 to 14 wound on the core 10. The core 10 is formed in a squarish eight form as a whole, and has an intermediate leg 20 and first to fourth sides 21 to 24 approximately orthogonal to the intermediate leg 20. The inductance values required to both the common mode signal and the normal mode signal are obtained by optimizing the places where the first to fourth windings 11 to 14 are wound on the core 10.

      SOLUTION: A third winding 13 is wound on a part of the outer peripheral surface of a first core 40 where first and second windings 11 and 12 are wound. Therefore, compared to the case that the third winding 13 is wound on a separate third core, the number of components is decreased and a variation in performance caused by a difference of manufacturing conditions of cores is suppressed, resulting in stable frequency characteristics. A first core 40 and a second core 50 are arranged side by side so that parts of outer peripheral surfaces of them face one another. By adjusting an interval D between the facing outer peripheral surfaces and facing areas, an inductance value L3 can be easily adjusted by the third winding 13.
