    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spreader device for a cargo handling device capable of enhancing the efficiency of the operations to load and unload containers.
      SOLUTION: The spreader device 1 of a cargo handling device is to couple containers 51 using coupling tools 11 installed at the ends of an expansion beam 3 which is supported in guidance by a stationary beam 2 and able to expand and contract and is equipped with a sensing body 15 to be expanded and contracted moving with the expanding and contracting motions of the beam 3, expanding/contracting position sensing means 20 installed on the stationary beam 2 in positions corresponding to the lengths of the containers 51 of different sorts and to sense the sensing body 15 to be expanded and contracted, and a control device 35 furnished with a time setting unit 36 to be actuated when the sensing means 20 senses the sensing body 15 to be expanded and contracted and to stop the beam 3 after elapse of the specified period of time, wherein the sensed condition of the sensing body 15 by the sensing means 20 is maintained even in case the beam 3 is expanded or contracted by a touch of any container 51 etc., so that the cargo handling operations can be continued.

A feeder means 50 is disposed along the traveling route 44, and a receiving means 47 is disposed on the traveling body 11 side. The electricity is always fed on the cargo handling device 10 side by making the receiving means 47 abut to and slide in the feeder means 50 while the traveling body 11 is traveling or stopped. Therefore, the electricity can always be fed to a part requiring the electric power and each operation part can be operated as expected.

When the empty or filled load supporting device 30 starts swinging in a left and right direction and a rotating direction, the swing can be stopped by operating the swing stopping devices 41, 51. Swing of the load-supporting device 30 in the left and right direction and the rotating direction can be easily and quickly stopped by operation of an operator without moving the heavy moving body 10 side.
