    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance better performance and durability, to impart less backspin to a ball, and to provide a smooth transition part between a main body and a face plate.SOLUTION: A golf club head includes a head body having a crown 116, a sole 114, and a skirt 118 between the crown and the sole. The head body defines an opening part in a front part and has a frame supporting part around a peripheral edge of the opening part. A face plate is mounted within the opening part and has a transition radius along one or more edges to at least partially wrap around at least one of the crown, the sole, and the skirt. The head includes thin wall zones in the crown and the skirt, a hosel which is flush with the crown, and a weight mounted in the sole to be proximate to the face plate. Consequently, the golf club head has a center of gravity located relatively low and forward in the proximity of the face plate.
