摘要： PURPOSE: To prepare the titled filler having high fluidity and dispersibility and giving a foamed product having high foaming ratio and homogeneity and improved modulus, by coating granules composed of natural or synthetic fibers with a dried and solidified coating film of a paste.
CONSTITUTION: Fibrous material such as animal fibers, vegetable fibers, synthetic fibers, etc. are split to monofilaments or to cottonlike product, and granulated with a rotary granulator in the presence of water to obtain wet fiber granules containing about 66% of water. The granules are dried to the water-content of ≤10%, returned to the rotary granulator, and stirred in the presence of paste such as polyvinyl alcohol to coat the granules with the paste film. The coated granules are dried with hot air to solidify the film. As an alternative method, the split fiber is directly stirred in a rotary granulator while introducing the paste, eliminating the preliminary granulating process of the split fiber in the presence of water, to granulate the fiber using the paste liquid as a binder, and the granulated fiber is dried.
