A feeding and raking roller having a length nearly equal to the width of the pick-up device and equipped with lateral-transfer spiral blades on the circumferences at both ends is arranged between the pick-up device and the front end of the pick-up device in a manner parallel to the pick-up device, and rotatably supported on the machine body. The feeding and raking roller is driven and rotated at a circumferential speed higher than the circumferential speed of the conveyor device in a direction to move the upper circumference from the pick-up device side toward the front end of the conveyor device.
