    • PURPOSE:To stop a loom at a right definite position regardless of value of load by controlling at least either one of brake torque of brake and brake starting angle based on the load from a load detecting means. CONSTITUTION:A crank angle theta which an encoder EN connected to a main spindle MS of a loom detects inputs to a comparator 41 and a load detecting means 11 consisting of a current transfer CT interposed in a power line detects electric current I which flows to a loom motor M and inputs to a control means 20 consisting of a function generator 21. The function generator 21 determines excitation voltage V to the input current I. When any stopping cause occurs now and stopping signal is output to the loom, the comparator 41 compares the crank angle theta with control starting angle theta of a setting unit 42 and when thetais thetas, a braking signal Sb inputs to an excitation circuit BC and the excitation circuit BC excites a brake B according to brake torque by the excitation voltage Vx to stop the loom at a definite position.
