    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cap which closes an inlet of a fuel tank with a small number of rotations, reduces force of engaging/disengaging when mounting/removing the cap, and reduces a working sound. SOLUTION: The fuel cap includes a torque mechanism 80. The torque mechanism 80 is provided with a lid side engaging portion 46a provided on a lid 40, a torque plate 90 having a torque piece side engaging portion 94b, and a spring. When the lid 40 is rotated in the closing direction, the engaging portion 46a engages with/disengages from engaging portion 94b, resulting in obtaining a moderation feeling. At this time, an engaging vertical face 46b presses radially on an engaging vertical face 94d to cause an elastic torque piece 94 to elastically deform to narrow an elongated hole 94c. On the other hand, when it is rotated in the direction of opening, an engaging slope face 46c presses an engaging slope face 94e to cause the torque piece 94 to incline with a support end 94a as a fulcrum to be engaged/disengaged, thereby returning the lid 40 to an initial position in relation to a casing body 20.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To close an injection opening of a fuel tank by a small number of rotations and provide the superior operation properties such as the positional registration when a cap is fitted or removed. SOLUTION: A fuel cap is provided with a casing main body 20, a cover 40 and a torque mechanism 80. The torque mechanism 80 is provided with a cover engaging section 46a formed on the cover 40, a torque plate 90 with a plate side engaging section 94b and a spring 82. When the cover 40 is rotated in the closing direction, the cover side engaging section 46a is engaged with and disengaged from the plate side engaging section 94b to provide the orderly feeling, while when the cover is rotated in the opening direction, the cover side engaging section is engaged and disengaged by the small rotating torque, by which the actuating force of the spring 82 is accumulated and released. The cover 40 is returned to the initial position of the casing main body 20.
