    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing methanol by which the cost of construction of a plant is reduced and the energy efficiency over the whole plant is improved. SOLUTION: A raw material mixed gas of a raw material gas with steam is subjected to a first reforming, a second reforming and a synthetic reactions in order to provide the objective methanol. The first reforming means is constituted of a combustion type steam reforming furnace 22 and a heat-exchange type steam reforming vessel 21, and the ratio of the amounts of the raw material mixed gas of the combustion type steam reforming furnace 22 to a heat-exchange type steam reforming vessel 21 is regulated so as to be (1:3)-(3:1). A part of the raw material gas from which a sulfur component is removed, air for combustion, an unreacted synthetic gas generated in a methanol synthetic loop and preferably a flash gas are supplied to the combustion type steam reforming furnace 22 as a fuel. The synthetic gas after second reforming reaction is supplied to the heat exchange type steam reforming vessel 21 so as to heat the raw material mixed gas for the heat exchange type steam reforming vessel 21, and the steam generated by the heat of the reaction in the methanol synthetic reactor 29 is mixed with the raw material gas supplied to the first reforming means.
