    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable improving strength by sulfonation treatment by identifying the olefine system resin composition capable of performing high temperature treatment and by implementing a pressurization in a specific range of pressure during heating in a high temperature liquid as represented by sulfuric acid. SOLUTION: By using a nonwoven fabric of polyolefine system resin having 20 wt.% or less of low density polyethylene content, and by making the liquid as represented by sulfuric acid high temperature of 120 deg.C or more, the nonwoven fabric is steeped in the above liquid and a pressing treatment of 0.05-50 kPa is implemented. By the above treatment, the effect of improvement of strength by sulfonation treatment compared with the raw fabric is seen and possibility of occurrence of short circuit is reduced, and the separator can be made thinner. In the high temperature sulfuric acid treatment, the quantity of acidic group that is not neutralized after steeping in the alkaline liquid is also improved, and the improvement of capacity retention can be achieved at the same time, and an alkaline battery separator having an excellent performance and reliability is provided.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method that prevents short-circuiting by sulfonating treatment by identifying the olefine system resin composition capable of performing high temperature treatment and implementing a pressurization in a specific range of pressure during heating in a high temperature liquid as represented by sulfuric acid.
