    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an anode electrode material which can realize a nonaqueous electrolyte battery excellent in a discharge capacity and a charge/discharge cycle life. SOLUTION: The anode material for a nonaqueous electrolyte battery is composed of an intermetallic compound as main phase having a composition as shown in the following general formula and R, M, Si as indispensable elements. The conductive agent includes: a conductive particle 2; and particles 3 of at least one metal selected from the group consisting of Cu, Ag, Au, Pd, In, Zn, Sn, Pb, Pt and Cd or an alloy thereof, the particles 3 being supported on a surface of the conductive particle 2. An average particle size of the particles 3 is 2 nm or more and 100 nm or less.
