    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce distortion of a transmitting waveform when a transformer is used for a MODEM used in data transmission, by forming a magnetic core by using magnetic material whose ratio of residual magnetic flux density to a saturation magnetic flux density is at most a specified value. SOLUTION: A magnetic metal thin plate 4 on which an insulating film is formed is punched out by press working, and the plane shape is made a specified shape such as an E-shape. After weld preventing treatment is performed by sticking magnesia (MgO) powder, alumina (Al2 O3 ) powder and zirconia (ZrO3 ) powder on the surface of the magnetic metal thin plate 4 formed in the above process, thermal treatment is performed at a temperature of 950-1100 deg.C for a specified time. After the thermal treatment is completed, cooling is performed at a cooling speed in the range of 50 to 500 deg.C/Hr. The thermal treatment condition is adjusted, and a magnetic core is so constituted that a ratio of a residual magnetic flux density to a saturation magnetic flux density is set to be equal to or lower than 0.6. A plurality of the magnetic metal thin plates 4 which are adjusted in the above processes are alternately built in a hollow part of a bobbin 3 around which a coil 2 is wound.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the occurrence of the seizure of laminated magnetic-alloy thin bands when subjecting them to a heat treatment, by making not larger than a specific value the areal occupation factor of carbons existent on the surface of each magnetic- alloy thin band which is measured by an Auger electron spectroscopic method. SOLUTION: In a magnetic-alloy thin band 1 punched by a press, the areal occupation factor of carbons existent on its surface which is measured by an Auger electron spectroscopic method is made not larger than 5% to make preventable its seizure when subjecting it to a heat treatment. An insulation layer is interposed between the respective adjacent magnetic-alloy thin bands 1 when they are laminated to form a laminated core. This insulation layer serves as an interlayer insulator. The thickness of the magnetic-alloy thin band 1 is made preferably not smaller than 10 μm and not larger than 500 μm. Also, an arithmetic mean roughness Ra of its surface is made preferably not smaller than 1 μm and not larger than 12.5 μm, and more preferably not smaller than 0.5 μm and not larger than 5 μm. When the numeral value of Ra falls within this scope, the interlayer seizure of the magnetic-alloy thin bands 1 are prevented, and the volumetric factor when they are laminated can be secured to make securable the characteristic obtained as the laminated core.
