    • PURPOSE: To suppress frictional heating at the time of cooling or acting the electromagnetic force by interposing a bearing between a superconducting coil and a gap piece or between the gap piece and a cooling vessel. CONSTITUTION: When a superconducting coil 2 is secured in a cooling vessel 3, it is secured secured on three sides except the inner side of the coil while being clamped by means of gap pieces 5A, 5B and a ceramic bearing 6. When liquid helium is injected into the cooling vessel 3 in order to cool the superconducting coil 2, the coil 2 contracts in the radial direction along the gap piece 5B on the side face to cause a relative displacement between the coil 2 and the cooling vessel 3. When a current is fed to the coil 2, the circular coil is subjected to a hoop force for spreading the coil outward thus causing a relative displacement between the coil 2 and the cooling vessel 3 along the gap piece 5A on the side face. Since the relative displacement takes place through the bearing 6, frictional heating is suppressed to retard quenching of the superconducting coil thus enhancing the stability and reliability thereof.

CONSTITUTION:Heat radiation shield plates 6a, which are cooled with liquid nitrogen, and two heat radiation shield plates 6b, which are cooled with evaporated helium gas, are arranged between the outer wall of an inner container 5 and the outer wall of a vacuum container 2 and between the axial direction wall of the inner container 5 and the axial direction wall of the vacuum container 2. The number of the heat radiation shield plates, which are positioned at the inner side is made fewer than the number of the heat shield plates positioned at the outside by one plate in this way. The area of the inner wall of the inner container 5 is inherently narrower than the area of the outer wall. Therefore, the quantity of heat, which intrudes from the inner wall, is less. Even if the heat radiation shield plates is decreased by one, the heat insulating performance is not hampered.

    • PURPOSE:To cool a lead wire sufficiently by liquefying a refrigerant gas stored in a buffer tank by the excess refrigerating capacity of a refrigerator on the non-use of the lead wire while returning the gas into a heat-insulating vessel. CONSTITUTION:Helium gas which has been stored in a buffer tank 17 is compressed by a compressor 7, liquefied by the excess capacity of a refrigerator 6 and returned into an inner vessel 1 at a point of time when currents are adjusted completely. When lead wires 19a, 19b are employed, helium gas used for cooling the lead wires 19a, 19b is stored previously into the buffer tank 17. When the lead wires 19a, 19b are not employed, helium gas stored in the buffer tank 17 is liquefied by the excess capacity of the refrigerator 6 and returned into the inner vessel 1. Accordingly, the lead wires can be cooled excellently when the lead wires 19a, 19b are used, and the reduction of helium gas can be prevented, thus obtaining a superior cooling effect.

    • PURPOSE:To prevent stored data from being erased even when a storage device element using a Josephson element enters a thermal dangerous state by detecting the temperatures of a storage device element at respective parts through a temperature sensor, and transferring the stored data to an auxiliary storage device outside of a cryogenic container when the output of some temperature sensor exceeds a predetermined value. CONSTITUTION:The temperature sensors 14 are provided at respective parts of the elements constituting a computer body 5, and the output terminals of those temperature sensors 14 are connected to the input terminals of a controller 15 by piercing the wall of the cryogenic container airtightly in an insulating state. The controller 15 decides the temperature detected by the respective temperature sensors 14, and accelerates the operation of a refrigerator which recovers the gaseous helium in the cryogenic container 1 and liquefies and return the gas into said container 1 when the detected temperature of even one sensor tends to rise. If even one of integrated circuit chips constituting respective element rises, above a reference temperature in operation for some reason, the controller 15 operates immediately to transfer data stored in the computer body 5 to the external auxiliary storage device 13 and to store.

    • PURPOSE: To perform magnetic shielding surely without making a very low-temperature vessel large-sized and heavy-weight by providing a superconductive material layer for magnetic shielding on the surface of an inside tank of the very low-temperature vessel where principal elements are stored.
      CONSTITUTION: A very low-temperature vessel 1 consists of an insidetank 2, an outside tank 3, a vacuum heat-insulating layer 4 formed between these inside and outside tanks 2 and 3, and a superconductive material layer 5 provided on the inside face of the inside tank 2. A computer main body 6 is immersed in liquid helium P and is stored in the vessel 1. Constituting elements of the body 6 are constituted by gathering chips where Josephson junction elements are used as logic elements and most of signal lines are constituted with superconductors. Since the layer 5 is directly brought into contact with the helium P in this constitution, it is transferred to superconductors antomatically. Consequently, the layer 5 is allowed to fulfill well the function as a magnetic shielding body. In this case, the vessel 1 is not made large-sized and heavy-weight because no hindrance is placed even if the thickness of the layer 5 is reduced sufficiently.

This unit 21 is detached from a gathered body 23 by a manipulator 41. A door mechanism 5 is opened to move a manipulator 25 into the vessel 3, and thereafter, the mechanism is closed. The pressure in the vessel 3 is raised, and a door mechanism 7 is opened to take out the unit 21 to the outside. Consequently, only the defective unit 21 is detached easily without a thermal influence upon the other unit 21.
