    • PURPOSE:To control the degree of vacuum in a film forming vacuum vessel with high accuracy so that film formation is uniformized by calibrating a vacuum degree measuring means to be used at the time of film formation in accordance with the measured value of the other vacuum degree measuring means which prevents the inflow of a film forming material. CONSTITUTION:Voltage is applied by a power supply E to a target 5 in the film forming vacuum vessel 8 to generate fine particles which are brought into reaction with the gas supplied from a cylinder 10 so that the film of the resultant reaction product is stuck and formed on a substrate 1. The inside of the film forming vacuum vessel 8 of the above-mentioned film forming device is evacuated by a rotary pump 19 and a main cryostatic pump 6 to the prescribed degree of vacuum. The working gas is then introduced into the vacuum vessel from the cylinder 10 and the degree of vacuum is measured by a diaphragm type pressure gage 35, following which an ion gage 2 is calibrated. After the inflow of the film forming material is prevented by closing a solenoid valve 33, the film forming operation is carried out in accordance with the measured value of the above-mentioned ion gage 2.

    • PURPOSE:To prevent the connector part of a shutter from coming off the guide groove of a cartridge main body even when it receives shock, by setting the width size of the connector part of the shutter larger than that of the slit of the cartridge main body. CONSTITUTION:The shutter 21 is inserted to the cartridge main body 12, and engages projecting parts 21a, 21a with the guide grooves 16, 16, and also, is loaded on the cartridge main body 12 slidably by engaging the connector parts 21b, 21b at a tip part with the guide grooves 18, 18. Next, the slippage of the shutter 21 can be prevented from being generated by mounting a stopper 22. Then, the width size (b) of the connector parts 21b, 21b of the shutter 21 are set larger than the width size (a) of the slit 17 of the cartridge main body 12. In such a way, engaging areas with the guide grooves 18, 18 can be increased, and it is possible to prevent the shutter 21 from coming off the cartridge main body 12 even when it receives vibration.

    • PURPOSE:To make operation of an operator simple by displaying information that correlates the body of an information storing medium and a cassette in a display section provided in the cassette and storing it in an information storing layer of the body of the information storing medium. CONSTITUTION:To manufacture an information storing medium, an optical disk 13 is inserted into a disk cartridge 12 manufactured separately and a bar code 15 that indicates information of manufacture corresponding to the inserted optical disk 13 is stuck on the side of the cartridge 12. Manufacture's serial number and date of manufacture of the optical disk 13 are read optically from the bar code 15, and read data are stored optically in the information storing layer of the disk 13. Thereby, troubles such as key inputting the number and data of manufacture etc. can be reduced, and accordingly, storing process can be simplified, and efficiency of operation of an operator can be heightened. Further, a computer that generates stored data corresponding to the number and date of manufacture by key inputting becomes unnecessary, and whole manufacturing unit can be made small.

    • PURPOSE:To form adequate pits by providing a circular substrate and recording layer which is laminated on said substrate, is constituted of at least two kinds of materials, and is changed in the comsn. ratio of said materials along the diametral direction of the substrate. CONSTITUTION:The substrate 22 is made of a transparent resin such as polycarbonate or transparent glass and the recording layer 23 is changed in the optical characteristics and shape by the application of thermal energy of a laser beam to be spot-radiated thereto, by which an optical disk 21 is formed. This recording layer 23 is constituted of the thin film such as GeTe film or TeSe consisting of a binary or more element alloy or compd. The compsn. ratio (content) of the materials constituting such film is changed along the radial direction of the substrate 22. The film is formed of such compsn. ratio at which the sensitivity (recording sensitivity) to cause the optical characteristics or shape to be changed by the application of the thermal energy is increased toward the outside peripheral part (arrow b) of an optical disk 21.
