CONSTITUTION:A laser beam, which is generated at a discharge part 22 and travels in parallel from a first reflecting mirror 20 to a second reflecting mirror 21, reaches the mirror 21, is reflected and is again amplified at the part 22. The amplified laser beam is reflected by the mirror 20 and is further amplified at the part 22 to proceed to the side of the mirror 21. The laser beam, which is amplified in the repetition process of these reflections and is increased its output, gradually proceeds to the center of a laser oscillation device and is outputted from pass light 23 as a solid laser beam 25. Thereby, in the case the reflective surfaces of the mirrors 20 and 21 are damaged, the damaged reflecting mirrors are moved by a prescribed distance and a laser oscillation successively can take place stably in the state prior to the damage by putting the damaged parts of the mirrors outside of the optical path of the laser beam.

    • PURPOSE:To remove a window member even if the interior of a pressure vessel is not opened with the atmosphere by maintaining the sealing state of the vessel by a gate when the member is removed. CONSTITUTION:A plurality of wall members 14 for absorbing an impact wave to be generated by a main discharge are provided at a predetermined interval along its axial direction on the inner periphery of a small-diameter part 3 of a pressure vessel 1, and a slide plate 16 for forming a gate is slidably adhered along the direction of the part 3 on one side surface of a wall member 14 disposed at the axially outermost side of the part 3. When the member 5 is removed from the part 3 for replacing or repairing, the plate 16 is slid downward by an operation rod 19, a vent hole 14a opened at the member 14 is blocked by the plate 16 to maintain the sealing state of the vessel 1. Thus, the member 5 can be replaced or repaired without communicating the interior of the vessel 1 with the atmosphere.

And, when the demand instruction P from the optical plant is given to the lock circuit 27-2, a trigger pulse signal Tr outputted from a pulse oscillator 27-1 is intermittently locked (missing) at a specified repetition frequency (a few Hz-hundreds Hz) through an output of the lock circuit 27-2, and the trigger pulse signal Tr is made to oscillate continuously for the grid electrode of a thyratron 22. By these processes, pulse laser output F containing pulses with a high peak value is made to oscillate at a specified repetition frequency from the metallic vapor laser oscillator.

    • PURPOSE:To supply a metal vapor source without opening an interior with the atmosphere and to shorten a time required to reoscillate a metal vapor laser by forming a through hole at an angle crossing a discharge tube near a beam output port, and providing a flexible insertion rod telescopically rotatably with the hole and having a groovelike cutout at the end. CONSTITUTION:A through hole 21 is formed near the beam output port of a hermetically sealing vessel 1, two grooves 22, 22 are formed at the inner wall of the vessel 1 in the hole 21, a flexible insertion rod 24 having a stopper 25 and a cutout 26 at the end is provided telescopically and rotatably with the hole 21, and an O-ring 23 for sealing the rod 24 from the vessel 1 is provided. The rod 23 is rotated to dispose a recess 27 above, and a metal vapor source is filled in the recess 27. Then, the rod is inserted to a suitable position in the tube 2, the recess 27 is directed downward, and the metal vapor source is dropped in the tube. Thereafter, the cutout 26 is disposed downside, and the rod 24 is so returned as not to displace the vapor source from a predetermined position. This is repeated as required. Thus, the metal vapor source can be supplied without opening the interior of a laser body with the atmosphere.

    • PURPOSE:To eliminate the residual stress and to prevent crystal grains from being coarsened by arranging plural infrared lamps to heat a machining part and putting out lights in order according to the starting order of the lighting after the machining is finished to heat-treat the machining part. CONSTITUTION:Many infrared lamps 7... are arranged at both sides with a nozzle 4 between as a heating system to heat a butt part 6 to heat toward the butt part 6 from both sides. In the case the nozzle 4 is scanned and a laser beam L is projected to weld the butt part 6, the infrared lamps 7... are lighted in order and the heat is applied to a formed weld zone 8 to control the cooling speed. After the welding is finished, the lights are put out in order according to the order of the starting of the lighting with the lapse of time to heat-treat the weld zone 8. By this method, the residual stress with respect to the machining part is eliminated and the crystal grains are prevented from being coarsened and the tact time is reduced.

When a gas laser medium, circulated by a blower 9 flows into the tube 3 from the tube 7 while a laser oscillation is induced by a resonance between a total reflection mirror 1 and an output mirror 2, the gas laser medium spouted out from the two ends of the tube 7 hits the upper part of the inside wall of the tube 3 slantly and progresses toward the tube 8 as a convolute flow because the axis of the tube 3 and the axis of the tube are connected together in a twisted relation.

    • PURPOSE:To execute stable laser welding and processing while assuring the formation of penetration beads and allowing the easy expansion of penetration by reflecting the laser light past the keyhole generated in a welding part in the stage of laser welding and heating adequately the rear of the weld zone. CONSTITUTION:The laser light past the keyhole generated in the welding part is reflected by a hollow curved surface 8 provided to the recess 7 of a backing strip and is irradiated on the rear surface in the weld zone of a welding member 3 in the stage of welding said member by the laser light emitted from a welding torch 1. The irradiated part is adequately heated, by which the formation of the penetration beads is assured and the penetration is easily expanded. The welding and processing are thus stabilized. An inert gas may be blown to the recess 7 to prevent the oxidation thereof and in some cases, the inert gas may be blown from the side face of the recess 7. The surface 8 may be made into an interchangeable type.
