    • PURPOSE: To make it possible to easily execute the detection, identification and quantitative determination of the electric field responsive impurities included in a liquid crystal element by detecting the impurities included in the liquid crystal element with high sensibility in accordance with the inclination of the electric field response curves within the time of the respective pulse widths in the state of impressing pulse electric fields varying in polarities from each other on the liquid crystal element. CONSTITUTION: The pulse signals generated by a pulse generator 1 are applied to a liquid crystal cell 10. This liquid crystal cell 10 is irradiated with the IR light from a light source 2 through a polarizer 3. The IR light transmitted through the cell is converted to an electric signal by an IR detecting means 4 and this signal is detected. The electric signal is amplified and is inputted to a digital sampling oscilloscope 7 by which the signal is time analyzed and integrated. The entire part of the evaluating device is controlled by a computer 8. The electric field response curves corresponding to the changes in the intensity of the transmitted light with lapse of time are respectively determined for the cases the pulse electric fields varying in the polarities from each other are impressed. The inclinations of the electric field response curves within the time of the respective pulse widths are analyzed.

    • PURPOSE:To improve the high-speed responsiveness with a voltage by forming the liquid crystal oriented films formed on the surfaces of substrates of high polymer films having a bipole moment with a rigid structure coupled via a surface treating agent. CONSTITUTION:A substrate formed by coupling the liquid crystal oriented film 4 consisting of a high polymer (PBLG) having a rigid structure and the bipole moment via a surface treated layer 3 on the surface of the ITO electrode 2 on a glass substrate 1 is used as a first substrate. A substrate constituted by forming a polyimide liquid crystal oriented film 7 not subjected to a rubbing treatment on the surface of a glass substrate 5 with the ITO electrode 6 is used as a second substrate. The substrates are disposed and sealed to face each other via spacers 8 in such a manner that a cell thickness of about 10mum is attained. Liquid crystal molecules are thereafter injected and encapsulated therebetween and are slowly cooled after heating, by which the liquid crystal 9 is oriented. A power source 10 is connected to the ITO electrode 2 and the ITO electrode 6 and a prescribed voltage is applied between both, by which the high-speed responsiveness with the applied voltage is realized.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a sorting apparatus by which a sheet of paper with an image formed of an image formation material, a sheet of paper with an image formed of an erasable material and a sheet of thermal paper can be sorted by a method wherein the reflection density of a sheet of paper to which a load is given is compared with a prescribed reference value. SOLUTION: Sheets of paper which are loaded so as to be mixed in a paper reservoir 1 are sent to an optical measuring system 5 via conveyance rollers 4, and their light transmittance and the mean vaue of their reflection densitities on both faces are measured. Then, the sheets of paper whose light transmittance is higher than a reference value are judged to be OHP sheets, and they are stored in an OHP sheet stockroom 7. Other sheets of paper are sent to heating rollers 8 so as to be heated, and the mean value of their reflection densities on both faces is measured by an optical measuring system 9. Then, the mean value of their reflection densities is compared with a prescribed reference value. Whether the sheets of paper are sheets of ordinary paper which are printed by an ordinary image formation material, or sheets of paper which are printed by an erasable image formation material, are judged. A sorting guide 11 and a sorting guide 13 are driven, and the sheets of paper are stored and stored in a thermal-paper stockroom 12, a recyclable-paper stockroom 14 and a reusable-paper stockroom 16.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new analog transmission system for image information which can make analog transmission of three-dimensional images, particularly three-dimensional dynamic images. SOLUTION: An analog transmission system for image information is provided with a reproduction means which reproduces the image 152 of an object 102, in such way that the means captures the information on the object 102 into a CCD camera 105a, after converting the information into information on interference fringes by the hologram method by using coherence light rays 103 and 104, transmits the information on interference fringes after converting the information into a signal pulse waveform 111 by means of a space light modulation system 107a, 108a, 108b, 109a, 109b, and 110, and reconverts the waveform 111 into the information on interference fringes by the use of a grating 109c and a lens 108c. The reproducing means captures the information on interference fringes into another CCD camera 105b and projects the reproduced light upon a liquid crystal device 10 displaying the information on interference fringes.
