    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely and instantly discriminate the number of reflection layers on one surface of a disk by providing a first area where information are recorded by the formation of bit and a second area where disk form information capable of discriminating the number of reflection layers of one surface of the disk are recorded by selectively eliminating the reflection layers on the disk. SOLUTION: A reflection layer elimination pattern data recording area B to be constituted by recording patterns of target data while selectively eliminating the reflection layers is provided at the inner peripheral side of an ordinary data recording area A where data are recorded by the formation of bit on the disk. Since the reflected light detection level of a reflection elimination part is sufficiently lower than the bottom detection level of the signal of the data recording area A and is an equal value independent of the number of the reflection layers, a constant binary signal is easily obtained and the reproducing of data is performed satisfactorily. Thus, the number of layers of the single surface of the disk is surely and instantly discriminated.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten a rotation waiting time when the data of a disk outer peripheral part are accessed and to enhance a transfer rate near the limit of a signal processing circuit. SOLUTION: This device reproduces the disk recording the data at a constant linear velocity, and is provided with a means for setting a boundary position between an inner peripheral part and an outer peripheral part of the disk, a reproducing position detection part 15 for detecting a reproducing track position on the disk and a comparison part 17 for comparing the detected reproducing track position with the set boundary position. When it is judged when that the reproducing track is positioned at the disk outer peripheral part side from the boundary position, the revolving speed of the disk is controlled so that the linear velocity higher than a standard reproducing linear velocity within the range of a data reproducible linear velocity (capture range) of a data strobe PLL circuit 8 is obtained from the time when present data reproducing is ended to the time when a next data reproducing command is issued.

      SOLUTION: In the case of recording the desired data in the hard disk (HDD) of the recording and reproducing device to the DVD disk, the presence of data recorded in the DVD disk is determined (S103), and when the data are recorded in the DVD disk, all the data recorded in the DVD disk are recorded in the HDD (S104), all the data recorded in the DVD disk are erased (S106) after the data recorded in the DVD disk are recorded in the HDD, and the desired data in the HDD are recorded in the DVD disk (S108) after all the data recorded in the DVD disk are erased.

    • PURPOSE:To properly reproduce a disk even though a reproduced linear speed is greatly deviated from a normal speed as in the case of right after a track search by generating an optimum VCO frequency, which makes the device to follow the change in a reproducing speed, as a data reading clock. CONSTITUTION:The device is provided with a synchronization pattern detecting circuit 16 which detects a synchronization pattern from EFM signals, an F-V converting circuit 17 which converts the period of synchronization pattern detection pulses to a voltage and an adding circuit 15 which adds the voltage obtained by the circuit 17 and the phase difference voltage obtained by a phase comparator 11 and applies the voltage to a VCO circuit 12 as a control voltage. The oscillating frequency of the circuit 12 varies from the condition, in which the oscillation frequency is synchronized with a reproducing speed, to the condition in which the oscillation frequency is increased in proportion with the reproducing speed, i.e., in proportion with the output voltage of the circuit 17. Thus, an optimum data reading clock is generated while following a reproducing speed.

    • PURPOSE:To devise the circuit that an undesired track jump is hardly caused by adding levels of a tracking error signal and a cancel signal generated based on a flaw detection signal outputted from a flaw detection means. CONSTITUTION:When a level of an RF signal outputted from an RF amplifier circuit 19 is decreased, a flaw detection signal at a prescribed level is generated from a flaw detection circuit 20 while the level of an RF signal is decreased to a prescribed level or below, and outputted to a cancel circuit 17. In this case, the cancel circuit 17 generates a cancel voltage corresponding to a level of the inputted flaw detection signal and the level of the cancellation voltage and the tracking error signal are added. Thus, since an abnormal level due to a flaw of the disk included in a tracking error signal subject to phase compensation at a phase compensation circuit 14 is almost cancelled by the cancel voltage, occurrence of an undesired track jump due to the flaw of the disk is prevented.
