    • PURPOSE:To omit the manufacturing process, to execute the mass production, and to reduce the cost by packing a part between an outer frame and a cover with a monolithic refractory and calculating it, and attaching as one body a pipe for supplying inert gas in which the outside periphery of a mandrel has been covered with a refractory, to a manufactured lance body. CONSTITUTION:A monolithic refractory 13 is cast into a bottom part of an outer frame 11, and on the refractory 13, an inflammable core 14 is placed. On the upper face of this outer frame 11, a cover 12 for forming hiving a through-hole 15' for providing porous nozzle and a through-hole 16' for installing mandrel is placed, and between the cover 12 and the core 14, a porous nozzle 15 is positioned and provided, and also, a mandrel 16 is installed so as to pass through the cover 12 from the upper face of the core 14. Subsequently, from an inflow port of the cover 12, a monolithic refractory 13' is cast in, and calcined in a furnace. In this case, the core 14 is burnt and a space which becomes an accumulator 17 is formed, and a lance body 19 is obtained. To this lance body 19, a pipe 21 for supplying inert gas whose outside periphery has been covered with a refractory 20 is attached.

    • PURPOSE:To decrease effectively the coarse aggregation of the inclusion in a molten steel and to prevent the clogging of an immersion nozzle by the inclusion in the stage of pouring the molten steel by the immersion nozzle of a tundish into a continuous casting mold by adjusting the Reynolds number of the molten steel flowing in the immersion nozzle in a specific range. CONSTITUTION:An electromagnetic force generating means 6 such as linear motor or permanent magnet is provided to the outside of the immersion nozzle 2 to apply the brake to the molten steel flow in the nozzle 2 in the stage of pouring the molten steel 3 in the tundish 1 into the continuous casting mold 4 of the continuous casting device. The tundish 1 and the mold 4 are otherwise hermetically connected by the nozzle 2 to prevent the overflow of the molten steel 3 from the mold 4. The Reynolds number Re expressed by the equation representing the molten steel flow rate in the nozzle 2 is adjusted to a 10 -10 range by the above-mentioned method, by which the generation of vortexes in the molten steel flow is prevented. The clogging of the nozzle 2 as the result of the coarse aggregation of the nozzle 2 as the result of the coarse aggregation of the inclusions such as Al2O3 is thus prevented and the stable continuous casting operation is made possible.

    • PURPOSE:To improve the surface of an ingot by embedding heating means to the top and bottom surfaces or bottom surface near the pouring aperture of a water-cooled mold for continuous casting by drawing in two horizontal directions and oscillating horizontally the mold thereby suppressing the formation of the ununiform solidified shell on the bottom surface of the aperture and controlling the forming position. CONSTITUTION:The low-frequency induction heaters 5 are embedded into the top and bottom surfaces near the pouring aperture 2 of the water-cooled 6 mold 1 for continuous casting by drawing in the two horizontal directions. The mold is oscillated back and forth in the horizontal drawing direction by an oscillator 7. The forming position of the solidified shell is controlled while the ununiform molten metal flow and stagnation near the aperture are prevented and the generation of the ununiform solidified shell is suppressed. Surface defects such as cold shut, double skin and surface crack are thus eliminated. The continuous casting while the bottom surface is cooled with water by consisting the top surface of the mold of a heat insulating material and disposing an endless water-cooled belt in the drawing direction of the mold 1 oscillated on the bottom surface is equally satisfactory.
