摘要： PURPOSE:To obtain a chalking-resistant ultraviolet-absorbing coating composition capable of forming a coating film excellent in prevention of deterioration due to ultraviolet rays and chalking resistance by mixing mica containing a specified amount of a specified element as a UV absorber in the coating material. CONSTITUTION:A UV absorber composed of one or more mica selected from a synthetic powdery mica, natural powdery phlogopite and natural biotite, containing one or more of tellurium, bismush, lead, iron, cerium, molybdenum, niobium, tungsten, antimony, tin, vanadium, manganase, nickel, cobalt, zinc and titanium, preferably one or more of iron, cerium, titanium, vanadium and manganese in an amount of 1-30wt.% on oxide base. This UV absorber is produced, e.g. by blending silica fluoride, alumina, silica and magnesia with oxides of the above-mentioned elements and smelting them with heating in an electric oven. The resultant UV absorber is blended, mixed and dispersed preferably in an amount of 0.1-100 pts.wt. based on 100 pts.wt. resin solid matter in a coating material, thus obtaining the objective coating composition.

摘要： PURPOSE:To provide the composite mica powder having at UV rays screening action, exhibiting a brilliant apparent color and useful as a base material for cosmetics having good usability and giving good finishes, etc., by forming a mica fine particle layer containing a specific element having a specific covering rate and a specified particle diameter ratio on the surface of each of mica particles. CONSTITUTION:Natural white mica, etc., and mica fine particles are mixed with each other and subsequently subjected to a mechano-chemical treatment for 24 hrs to obtain composite mica in which (B) a mica fine particle layer containing one or more of elements such as Te, Bi, Pb, Ce, Fe, Mo, Nb, W, Sb, Sn, V, Mn, Ni, Co, Zn and Ti is formed on the surface of each of the mica particles (A) under conditions satisfying an inequality: 1 >= the covering rate of the component A with the component B>0.5 and an inequality: 0.1 >= the particle diameter of the component B/ the diameter of the component A>0, the particle diameter of the component A being 1-100mum. The mica fine particles are prepared by mixing natural white mica with a compound containing one or more of elements such as Te, Bi, Pb, Ce, Fe, Mo, Nb, W, Sb, Sn, V, Mn, Ni, Co, Zn and Ti, calcining the mixture in an alumina crucible, cooling the calcined product and subsequently grinding the cooled calcination product with a ball mill, etc.

摘要： PURPOSE:To obtain the title powder which is excellent in the chroma of visual colors, applicability, finish, safety, etc. and useful as a pigment for cosmetics, by bringing synthetic mica powder into contact with an aq. soln. contg. an org. acid or a chelating agent and heat-treating it at a specific temp. CONSTITUTION:A mixture of 40pts. silicon dioxide, 30pts. MgO, 13pts. Al2O3 and 40pts. potassium silicofluoride is molten at 1,400-1,500 deg.C, crystallized at 1,300-1,400 deg.C, crushed and classified to obtain synthetic mica powder (A). The component A is brought into contact with an aq. soln. (B) contg. at least one org. acid or chelating agent (e.g., ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid) at a concn. of 0.05-10M/l at 0-100 deg.C and than heat-treated at 600-1,350 deg.C, pref. 900-1,100 deg.C for several sec to several days, pref. 0.5-10hr to obtain the title powder contg. 75-99mol.% (stoichiometriccompoisition) of fluorine and having a shape wherein the edge of the particle is in the form of a leaf and a particle size of 0.05-2mu in the direction of thickness and 2-60mu in the direction of plane.

摘要： PURPOSE:To obtain the titled powder having delaminated particle surface, compatible with oil when compounded to a cosmetic and giving smooth feeling to the skin, by contacting synthetic mica powder with an aqueous solution of an acid or a chelating agent. CONSTITUTION:The objective powder containing synthetic mica powder having delaminated edge can be produced by contacting synthetic mica powder with an aqueous solution of an acid (preferably weak acid, e.g. citric acid) or a chelating agent (e.g. disodium ethylenediaminetetraacetate). The obtained powder is compounded to a cosmetic in an amount of 1-100wt.%.

摘要： PURPOSE:To suppress surface activity of a synthetic mica, to prevent the dissolution of fluorine ion from the mica and to enable the use of the synthetic mica as a compounding raw material for safe and high-quality cosmetics, by adjusting the molar number of fluorine in a synthetic mica composition at a specific level below the stoichiometric composition of synthetic mica. CONSTITUTION:The molar number of fluorine in the objective synthetic mica powder is 75-99% of the stoichiometric level of synthetic mica. The synthetic mica powder can be produced by heat-treating a synthetic mica at 600-1,350 deg.C in an atmosphere properly selected from oxidizing atmosphere, reducing atmosphere, argon gas atmosphere, N2 gas atmosphere, ammonia gas atmosphere, vacuum, etc. The obtained synthetic mica is compounded to a cosmetic in an amount of about 1-100wt.% based on the whole cosmetic.
