The filtration means 15 is provided with a filter cloth 18 circularly and endlessly turned in the vertical direction and immersed in the wastewater in the wastewater chamber 8 in the lower part: the filter cloth 18 runs while covering the opening part 14: and the washing means is installed above the liquid surface in the ascending side of the filter cloth 18 in the wastewater chamber 8. In the wastewater treatment apparatus with such a structure, the wastewater supply port 9 is formed in the wastewater side wall in the descending side of the filter cloth and the concentrated wastewater discharge port is formed in the wastewater side wall in the ascending side of the filter cloth of the wastewater chamber 8 and a solid matter releasing means for removing the solid matter adhering to the filter cloth 18 is installed in the lower part of the washing means.

SOLUTION: This waste liquid treatment apparatus comprises a waste liquid chamber 8 having a waste liquid supply inlet 9 and a concentrated waste liquid discharge outlet 10, a filtered liquid chamber 11 having a filtered liquid discharge outlet 12, a filtration means 15 having a filter cloth 18 for filtering the waste liquid supplied to the waste liquid chamber 8, a sludge adhesion amount detecting means 20 for detecting the amount of sludge adhering to the filter cloth 18, a speed control means 21 for controlling the running speed of the filter cloth 18 corresponding to the amount of the sludge adhering to the filter cloth 18 detected by the sludge adhesion amount detecting means 20, and a washing means 19 for washing the filter cloth 18. The waste liquid chamber 8 and the filtered liquid chamber 11 are installed adjacently to each other and at least one projected part 13 projected into the inside of the waste liquid chamber 8 i formed in the filtered liquid chamber 11 and an open part 14 communicated with the waste liquid chamber 8 is formed in the projected part 13 and the filter cloth 18 is running while covering the open part 14.
