    • PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of a strip like cut piece sticked to the main pipe side by giving a main clearance angle that the outside of a blade tip cuts prior to the inside for the pipe body surface to a cylindrical cutter blade tip, and forming a single-blade cutting that the main clearance angle is inclined so as to face to the cutter center shaft. CONSTITUTION:The main clearance angle of a single diamond point tool 106 is set at the angle slightly smaller than the approach angle beta made by the surface line S of the outside part 102a of a blade tip part 102 and the tangent T of the part where the outside part 102a of the blade tip part 102 in the circular arc A made by the surface line S of the outside part 102a of the blade tip part 102a and the inner face 120a of a main pipe 120. The pipe apex part of the main pipe 120 is cut by a cutter 100 and after the blade tip part 102 of the cutter main body 101 reaches the inner face 120a of the main pipe 120, and the outside part of the blade tip of the single diamond point tool 106 formed on the blade tip part 102 completes cutting prior to the inside part, so the cut piece is generated as a burr on a cutting piece 126. Consequently the strip like cut piece generated by cutting is sticked to the cutting piece 126 on the whole as a burr and recovered.

    • PURPOSE:To securely engage a cut-off piece by locating the horizontal plane of an engaging part end of an engaging projection urged by a spring in the proximal end side of the drill, said end having a generally right-angled triangular section taken along the axis and projecting from the outer peripheral surface of the drill to enlarge the projecting amount from the outer peripheral surface of the drill. CONSTITUTION:A center drill 107 is formed on the end side with a through square hole 109 having a rectangular section taken orthogonally to the drill axis. An engaging projection 110 having a rectangular section and urged by a spring 112 is movably disposed in the through rectangular hole 109, while being disabled from being with drawn. An engaging part 110b of the engaging projection 110 projecting from the outer peripheral surface of the drill 107 has a right-angled triangular section in the axial direction so that the inclined surface 110c of the hypotenuse is inclined toward the end face of the drill and the horizontal surface 110d is located on the proximal end of the drill to enlarge the projecting amount. As the drilling proceeds, the inclined surface 110c is urged by a drilled hole 120 and the engaging projection 110 is drawn in so that a cut-off piece 108 passes through the drill hole to be received by the horizon tal surface 110d.

    • PURPOSE:To provide a pipe fitting suitable for joining pipes having a relatively small wall thickness by forming an insert to be pressed to the joined pipes in such an arrangement that it consists of a plurality of rings held at a certain spacing with the aid of retainers. CONSTITUTION:A cylindrical driver 1 is made of a shape memory alloy in stainless steel series, while an insert 2 is formed from a plurality of rings 3 of stainless steel which are held at a certain spacing with the aid of retainers 4 interposed between. If the wall thickness of each pipe 10 is represented by (t), the dia. of each ring 3 shall range 1-3t and the thickness of the driver 1 range 2-5t. As a driver the insert 2 is fitted in the cylindrical member 1, and the pipes 10 are inserted from the two sides. The rings are compressed by thermal contracting the dia. of the driver 1 so that they bite into the peripheries of the pipes 10. Thus the peripheries of the pipes 10 are deformed to contribute to prevention of being drawn off, and also sealing is provided by metal touching with the inner surfaces of the rings 3.
