摘要： PURPOSE:To simplify a device, by a method wherein a device consists of a sample water collecting means equipped with a quantative mechanism, a filtering tank for filtering the sample water, and an ion exchanging column connected directly to the filterint tank through a filter. CONSTITUTION:A sample water treating device consists of a collecting tank 16 combined with a quantative tank, and a direct-connection type ion exchanger in which a filter and an ion exchanger are united into a unity. To simultaneously execute a filteration and an ion exchange, a filtering tank 2 is connected directly to a column 12 through a rollform filter 3. Through the vertical movement of a sample water pan 13, the filtering tank 2 is connected to and is disconnected from the column 12, and the connection part keeps air tightness by means of a rolling seal and other materials. Thus, the filtering of the sample and the ion exchange can be simultaneously carried out through the suction of a vacuum exhaust pump 18. This simplifies a device, facilitates cleansing, and permits the prevention of the discharge of unnecessary radioactive liquid.

摘要： PURPOSE:To reduce effectively the leaching of Co from metal contg. Co and Cr used in hot water by forming a Cr-rich dense oxide film on the surface of the metal. CONSTITUTION:Metal contg. Co and Cr such as stainless steel is immersed in hot water at a temp. above its service temp. to reduce the leaching of Co. A water heater in a nuclear power plant heats water flowing out of a condenser at about 35 deg.C up to about 225 deg.C maximum temp. in several steps. Each heater tube of the water heater is immersed in hot water at a temp. above its service temp. for 2-30hr to form a Cr-rich dense oxide film which inhibits the leaching of Co. The oxide film acts as a barrier, so the leaching of Co can be inhibited during use.

摘要： PURPOSE:To accurately measure a radioactive matter especially in a cooling water by a method wherein an isotope thereof is mixed into a liquid containing the substance by putting it to a sampling piping through which the liquid has been sampled and then, the concentration of the radioactive substance and the isotope thereof is determined in the liquid separately. CONSTITUTION:For example, a cooling water in a pressure vessel 31 of a nuclear reactor is sampled via a valve 47 from a sampling piping 40 through a piping to a desalting device 39 from a heat exchange 38 to measure Co therein. The isotope Co is fed and mixed thereinto on the upstream of the piping from a solution storage tank 41 through a flowmeter 44, a pump 42 and a valve 43, Co and Co are trapped through a trapper 45 and the total flow rate thereof is measured with a flowmeter 49. Co and Co trapped with a cation paper or the like in the trapper 45 are measured separately and the quantity of Co attached is detected in proportion to Co from the quantity of Co attached to the inner wall of the sampling piping, which makes possible accurate measurement of Co in the cooling water. The same prodecure is conducted for other radioactive matters.
