SOLUTION: This heat pump hot water supply apparatus is provided with compressors 105a, b for compressing a refrigerant; a water-refrigerant heat exchanger 103 for exchanging heat between a refrigerant passage where the refrigerant compressed by the compressors flow, and a water passage where water supplied from a water supply circuit flows; a pressure reducing device 104 for reducing the pressure of the refrigerant lowered in temperature by the water-refrigerant heat exchanger; evaporators 105a, b for evaporating the refrigerant reduced in pressure by the pressure reducing device, to return to the compressors; and a hot water storage tank 130 communicating with a hot water supply pipe for supplying hot water heated by the water-refrigerant heat exchanger, to a hot water supply port. The hot water storage tank has a cylindrical outer shell, and arranged in a space beside the evaporators, placing a cylinder axis of the outer shell vertically.
