CONSTITUTION: A carbon wet friction material is manufactured by adding within the range of 2-20wt.% binding to a material of carbonizable resin carbon black having the characteristics of 70m /g or more of a nitrogen adsorption specific surface area (N2 SA) and 90ml/100g or more of a DBP oil absorption amount, kneading this mixedly, attaching this substance of mixed kneading to a carbon fiber base material and conducting the heat pressure curing of it, then conducting the shearing processing of a cured sheet to a predetermined shape, and then conducting baking carbonization treatment by means of the temperature of 800 deg.C or more in non-oxidization atmosphere, and joining a carbon composite material thus obtained to a metal support slab.

SOLUTION: A carbon fiber composite carbon sheet prepared by making a thermosetting resin adhere to a carbon fiber cloth, baking and carbonizing the resultant cloth is impregnated with a thermosetting resin, cured and molded. The resultant carbonaceous friction material is then thermocompression joined to a metal supporting plate with an adhesive comprising 20-40 wt.% of a nitrile rubber, 5-30 wt.% of a carbon black and 30-60 wt.% of a thermosetting resin. Since the carbonaceous friction material is firmly joined to the metal supporting plate, the carbonaceous friction material having high durability and excellent frictional performances can be produced.

摘要： PURPOSE:To obtain a copper-based sintered friction material useful for a brake friction pad or a clutch facing, having high frictional characteristics, firmly bondable to a core plate, by sintering a molded article of green compact having a specific composition under limited sintering conditions. CONSTITUTION:Mixed raw material powder comprising (A) (i) 3-8wt.% of Sn powder, (ii) 2-9wt.% of Zn powder, (iii) 4-10wt.% of SiO2 powder and (iv) 15-25wt.% of SiO2 and (v) the rest of electrolyzed copper powder is molded in green compact. The molded article is brought into contact with a bonding face of a core plate and thermally pressed in a reducing atmosphere preferably under 1-10MPa. After the molded article reaches 750-850 deg.C, preferably 790-830 deg.C, the reducing atmosphere is changed into a neutral atmosphere or a vacuum atmosphere and successively the molded article is retained in the above temperature range for a prescribed time (preferably 20 minutes to 5 hours). The molded article in green compact is sintered and simultaneously bonded to the core plate to give the objective frictional material.
