    • PURPOSE:To obtain a simple and low-cost automatic paper feeding device by providing a first leaf spring in such a way that its contact point is positioned on the front side of the contact point between a selecting board and an automatic paper feed roller while providing a second leaf spring in such a way that its contact point is positioned on the rear side of the contact point as mentioned above. CONSTITUTION:A first leaf spring 31 is provided in such a way that its contact point P1 with an automatic paper teed roller 2 is positioned on the front side in paper feeding direction of the contact point P0 between a selecting board 3 and the automatic paper feed roller 2. On the other hand, a second leaf spring 32 is provided in such a way that its contact point P2 with the automatic paper feed roller 2 is positioned on the rear side in paper feeding direction of the contact point P0. Accordingly, since the leaf springs press the original 4A on the lowermost site which is sent out by the roller 2, originals 4 can be fed to a reading portion stably and surely, reducing the case for the original to be inclined with respect to a paper feeding direction without also causing the originals 4 in a paper feeding portion 5 to be inclined with respect to the paper feeding direction. Thereby, a paper feed roller 6A and a pinch roller 7A can be dispensed with.

    • PURPOSE:To enable an accurate detection of opening and closing by manufacturing an operating member operating a detecting section and a member locking an opening- closing member in the same part, and mounting the operating member on a lock lever. CONSTITUTION:A detection projecting piece 25b is formed integrally to a lock lever 25 while being adjoined to a hook section 25a. When the hook section 21a of a lock lever 21 is engaged with a pin 7a and an upper case 3 closes a lower case 2, the hook section 25a of another lock lever 25 is also engaged with a pin 7b simultaneously. The detection projecting piece 25b is intruded into the recessed section of a detecting section 27a at that time, and the closing of both cases is detected optically. The positional relationship of the detection projecting piece 25b and the hook section 25a is not displaced due to an error in assembly because the detection projecting piece 25b is formed to the lock lever 25 consisting of the same member as the hook section 25a interlinked with the pin 7b, and the positional relationship of the detection projecting piece 25b and the hook section 25a is not displaced due to an error in manufacture because the detection projecting piece 25b is formed adjacently to the lock lever 25 integrally, thus preventing erroneous detection by the detection projecting piece 25b.
