摘要： PURPOSE:To prepare a glass substrate for greening, capable of realizing a permanent greening even on a vertical surface or steeply tilted surface, not inhibiting the growth of plants, capable of being used without relating to the kinds of plants, and preferable also on appearance. CONSTITUTION:This glass substrate 26 for greening has interconnected voids 24 filled with inorganic particles as a water-retaining material. Preferably, glass particles 20 and the inorganic particles 18 having a higher melting point than the melting point of the glass and used as a water-retaining material are mixed with each other in desired amounts, respectively, and subsequently calcined to obtain the greening glass substrate 26 in which the surfaces of the glass particles 20 are fused for producing the glass base material 22 and which has interconnected voids 24 filled with the inorganic particles 18 as the water-retaining material. The water-retaining material can carry plant seeds and fertilizers and be disposed on a vertical surface or tilted surface to green the surface. Waste glass materials can be used for the glass particles 22.

摘要： PURPOSE: To enhance water retentivity by providing a porous body with a water retentive layer in the inside of which a water retentive material has been filled, and also by covering the outer surface of the water retentive layer with a water permeable material. CONSTITUTION: A water retentive layer 14 is formed in the inside of a porous body 12 which is made up of porous concrete or the like and has a continuous void. A water retentive layer 14 is formed by filling a water retentive material 18 consisting of the mixture of earth, peat moss, water, or the like inside a bag of a water permeable material 16 consisting of polypropylene fabric or the like. At the time of a wet and humid condition, the water retentive material 18 absorbs and maintains the surrounding water content, and at the time of a dry condition, the water content of the water retentive material 18 is gradually released into the water retentive material that has been filled in the void of the porous body 12, so that even if the dry condition is continued, the water retentive material is hardly dried. Further, the water permeable material 16 prevents the water retentive material 18 from flowing into the void of the porous body 12 and from being reduced. Thus, the water retentivity can be maintained for a long period of time so as to be suitable for the growth of plants.
