    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a demolition method which enables a high-rise steel tower to be demolished at a low place, which can reduce temporary materials for a scaffold and work at high elevations, which eliminates the need for the construction of a temporary tower supporting the steel tower like a jack-down system, the need for the construction of the foundation supporting the temporary tower and the weight of the steel tower acting on the temporary tower, and the need for the removal of the temporary tower and the foundation for the temporary tower after the demolition of the steel tower or the like, which eliminates the need for a huge vacant lot required when the high-rise steel tower is pulled down from its base, and which can reduce the influence exerted on the surrounding area such as noise caused by the pull-down and the occurrence of dust.
      SOLUTION: A hinge 5 is attached on the side of the steel tower 1. After connecting the wires 7a, 7b of the two winding lifting equipment 6a, 6b which are installed at the ground level on the ground to the steel tower in a position which is higher than the hinge, the steel tower is cut into the upper part and the lower part at the hinge level and is pushed and pulled by the wires of the winding lifting equipment.
