SOLUTION: A reducer shaft 8 is moved vertically by a switch lever 11 when the lever 11 is set in an upper limit position, an internal tooth 8a thereof is meshed with an external tooth 7a of a bush shaft 7 connected to a reel, an external tooth 8b thereof is separated from an internal tooth 11b of the lever 11 to be freely rotatable, and spring force of the second spring connected to the reducer shaft 8 is applied to the reel. When the lever 11 is set in the upper position, the internal tooth 11b of the lever 11 is meshed with the external tooth 8b of the shaft 8 to make rotation of the reducer shaft 8 incapable, the shaft 8 is moved downward by the lever 11 to separate the internal tooth 8a from the external tooth 7a of the bush shaft 7, and the spring force of the second spring is not applied to the reel.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve an assembling property and make webbing pull-out force almost constant even in case of the webbing pull-out quantity being increased. SOLUTION: This seat belt winding device is provided with a first reel 20, a second reel 30 and an energizing force imparting means 40. The first reel 20 is connected coaxially to a rotation axis of a reel shaft 2. The second reel part 30 has a small diameter reel part 34, a large diameter reel part 32 and a transition part 35 communicating the small diameter reel part 34 with the large diameter reel part 32. A cord body extended from the first reel 34 is wound onto the large diameter reel part 32 via the small diameter reel part 34 and the transition part 35 in the state of being changed in its travel direction by a direction changing member, and the second reel 3a is rotated in a direction of unwinding the cord body when the first reel 20 wound with the cord body is rotated by pulling out the webbing, to wind the cord body onto the first reel 20. The energizing force imparting means 40 is accommodated in the second reel 30 to impart rotation energizing force in a direction of winding the webbing W against the rotation of the second reel 30. At this time, the rotating speed ratio between the first reel 20 and the second reel 30 is made different to reduce the pull-out force of the webbing W according to the pull-out quantity of the webbing W.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a length in an axial direction and to variously set an amount of rotation of a driving member until the driving member couples to a driven member. SOLUTION: When a spool ring 24 is rotated relative to a locking ring 14 in α direction, a locking projection 24e engages with a locking projection 23d, resulting in integral rotation of the ring 24 and a stopper ring 23. After a predetermined amount of rotation, the locking projection 23d is removed from engagement with the locking projection 24e by an eccentric cam 14b, then only the ring 24 rotates, while the ring 23 stops. The rotation of the ring 24 causes engagement of the locking projections 24e with 23e, thereby, the both rings 24 and 23 integrally rotate again. A predetermined amount of rotation disengages the locking projections 23e from 24e, and only the ring 24 rotates. The re-engagement of the locking projection 24e with an locking projection 23f causes the integral rotation of the rings 24 and 23. Consequently, the locking projection 23f is clamped between the eccentric cam 14b and a flange 24b of the ring 24, resulting in an integral rotary coupling of the rings 24 and 14.

In the outer periphery of the winding shaft 13, a gear 23 (a first driving member) is fixed. In the outer periphery of the gear 23, an outside gear 25 (a first engaging part) is arranged evenly. Surrounding the gear 23, a rotating ring 30 (a second driving part) is arranged outside. In the inner periphery of the rotating ring 30, an inner gear 33 (a second engaging part) meshable with the gear 23 is formed. A part along the inner periphery of the rotating ring 30 becomes a is cutout part 35 simply cut out. The rotating ring 30 and the gear 23 are interlocked only when the inner gear 33 rotates and meshes with the outside gear 25, and become free when the outside gear 25 is located in the cutout part 35.
