SOLUTION: The piezoelectric transformer 1 has a constitution wherein a primary side piezoelectric plate 2 and a secondary side piezoelectric plate 3 are laminated, a ground electrode 4 is arranged between the plates 2 and 3, an input electrode 5 is arranged on a surface of the plate 2 and an output electrode 6 is arranged on a surface of the plate 3. An input voltage is increased and decreased by stretching vibration in a longitudinal direction. By setting the amount of deviation in the longitudinal direction of the plate 2 and the plate 3 as at most 2% of the whole length of the piezoelectric transformer 1, power loss is restrained.

SOLUTION: A piezoelectric actuator 10 has such construction that piezoelectric substance 12 and electrodes where a plurality of conductors 11 are put side by side at specified intervals roughly in parallel are stacked alternately in thickness direction of the piezoelectric substance 12. The piezoelectric substance 12 is polarized in a direction roughly orthogonal to the thickness direction of itself, and shearing transformation occurs in the piezoelectric substance 12 by applying drive voltage between the electrodes which face each other, catching the piezoelectric substance 12 in stack direction.

Such a piezoelectric transformer 40 can be manufactured, in such a way that, e.g. a green sheet is manufactured by using a piezoelectric ceramic powder containing a silver powder or a compound, to be changed into silver by heating of 0.1 wt.%-1.5 wt.% (expressed in terms of silver), a conductive paste containing a silver is printed on the surface of the sheet where the input section is formed at laminating of the green sheet, and the resulting body is integrally baked.
