    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air filter having high adsorption effect of chemical substance and a low vent resistance and produced at a lower cost, and also to provide a production method used for the same.
      SOLUTION: The air filter 10 is provided with tea powder 12 containing catechin as an effective component and a filter medium 11 carrying the tea powder 12. Dirty air 13 is changed to a clean air 17 through filtration with the air filter 10 by which dust 14, chemical substance 15, a foul odor component 16 or the like are adsorbed and removed. The chemical substance 15 and foul odor component 16 are adsorbed by the catechin in the tea powder 12 carried by a fiber surface of the filter medium 11. This adsorption occurs due to chemical reaction and different from physical adsorption such as those to use active carbon. Thus, adsorbed substance is hardly rereleased with an increase in temperature.
