    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polylactic acid-based adhesive in which a specific branched polylactic acid is used and thereby, high molecules of the polylactic acid tend to entwine with one another, and which has high adhesive strength and excellent biodegradability, and to provide a method for producing the same.SOLUTION: The polylactic acid-based adhesive contains a three- or four-branched polylactic acid, represented by specific chemical formula and having a number average molecular weight of ≥40,000. It is preferable that the ratio of the weight average molecular weight (Mw) to the number average molecular weight (Mn), Mw/Mn, is within the range of 1.07 to 1.16. The method for producing the adhesive is characterized by obtaining a polylactic acid by polymerizing a lactide in the presence of a polymerization catalyst and a tetrahydric or trihydric alcohol, and then dispersing or dissolving the polylactic acid into a solvent. It is preferable that the polymerization catalyst is composed of 4-dimethylaminopyridine and 4-dimethylaminopyridinium triflate, the tetrahydric alcohol is pentaerythritol, and the trihydric alcohol is trimethylolpropane.

      SOLUTION: The sandwich molding is made by not compounding the functional additive in a skin layer resin material but compounding a major functional additive in a core layer resin material or by compounding a sub-functional additive in a skin layer resin material and compounding the major functional additive in the core layer resin material; by being sandwich-molded; and then by being heated at a temperature not lower than a glass transition temperature of the synthetic resin material to make the major functional additive compounded in the core layer resin material bleed out on the surface of the skin layer.
