    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composition for an ultraviolet absorbing member capable of exhibiting an excellent lasting light resistance over an extended period, of sufficiently shielding, while retaining an advanced visible light transmissivity, ultraviolet rays within a 380-400 nm region difficult to shield in the prior art, and of mitigating coloration and an ultraviolet absorbing member prepared by using the same.SOLUTION: The provided composition for an ultraviolet absorbing member comprises: a metal complex of a specified compound possessing two 5-membered condensed hetero rings including a nitrogen atom and an oxygen or sulfur atom or another nitrogen atom and condensed with a benzene ring; and at least one type of silane coupling agent possessing at least one functional group selected from among thiol groups, amino groups, ureido groups, and isocyanate groups. An ultraviolet absorbing member prepared by using the same is also provided.
