    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rubber composition for high performance tires having grip performances, persistency and abrasion resistance improved in a good balance.
      SOLUTION: This rubber composition which comprises a rubber component containing styrene-butadiene copolymer rubber and a filler containing carbon black is characterized in that the carbon black having the following values is contained in an amount of ≥50 wt.% based on the total amount of the filler. The cetyltrimethylammonium bromide adsorption specific surface area of the carbon black is 140 to 200 m
      2 /g. The ratio of the cetyltrimethylammonium bromide adsorption specific surface area to an iodine adsorption is ≤0.7 m
      2 /mg. A value obtained by subtracting the cetyltrimethylammonium bromide adsorption specific surface area from a nitrogen adsorption specific surface area is ≥70 m
      2 /g. A compression dibutyl phthalate oil adsorption is ≥105 ml/100g.
