    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the occurrence of uneven stripes when a hot-dip galvanized steel sheet, particularly a galvannealed steel sheet is subjected to hot press forming.
      SOLUTION: Prior to a hot dip coating process, the treatment to bring an aqueous solution containing a silicon compound (e.g. an aqueous solution of sodium orthosilicate) into contact with the surface of a plating base material is performed. After the treatment, dewaxing with an aqueous solution of sodium hydroxide may be performed. The hot-dip galvannealed steel sheet may be preferably formed by performing heat treatment for alloying of coating in succession to the hot dip coating process. Shaped articles may be made higher in strength by quenching the steel sheet simultaneously with hot press forming or right thereafter in the case of the hardenable steel composition.
