    • PURPOSE:To diffuse the air introduced into a molten steel in all directions and to obtain a smooth ingot having less ruggedness by dipping a core material which is formed with recesses each having a limited groove size to a grating shape on the surface and is limited in the total area of the projecting parts into the motlen steel and sticking solidified layers thereto. CONSTITUTION:The recesses 4 are formed to the grating shape onto the surface of the core material 1 and the recesses 4, i.e., grooves, are vertically and horizontally connected. The width of the recesses 4 is made =90%. The gas such as air captured at the boundary faces is thus diffused through the grooves in all directions, by which the air gap is prevented and the molten steel is allowed to contact only with the projecting parts 5. The contact area is decreased and the heat transmission is relieved.

    • PURPOSE:To add powder and granules to a molten metal in a tundish nozzle without interfering with the operating surface in the stage of adding the powder and granules from the hollow part of a stopper to the molten metal by providing an extension part having a specified length to the top end of the stopper. CONSTITUTION:Steel particles 8 are added via a hollow part 5 of a stopper 11 into a molten steel 2 in the stage of supplying the molten steel 2 via a nozzle 4 from a tundish 3 into a casting mold 9. The inside diameter in the hollow part 5 of the stopper 11 is set at about 10mm. and an extension part 6 is provided to the top end thereof. The top end of the part 6 is set at the position in the depth exceeding 0.7lR(lR is the length in the curved part at the top end of the nozzle 4) downward from the top end of the nozzle 4. The outside diameter in the part 6 is so selected that the steel 2 flows at a required speed between the curved part of the nozzle 4 and the part 6.

    • PURPOSE:To make efficient and inexpensive mass production of a titled steel plate having high resistance to ridging by casting continuously a molten steel while adding a specific amt. of metallic powder having a specific grain size to the molten steel flow from a tundish, then subjecting successively the billet to hot rolling, annealing and cold rolling. CONSTITUTION:A molten steel is cast continuously while metallic powder having 5-3,000mu grain size is added at a rate of 0.1-5% by weight of the molten steel to the molten steel flow from a tundish thereby forming a continuously cast billet. The billet is subjected successively to hot rolling, annealing and cold rolling and is made into a steel plate. The stainless steel powder having the same component as the component of an intended ferritic stainless steel plate is preferably used for the metallic powder and the similar effect is obtainable as well by using carbon steel powder of a low cost.

    • PURPOSE: To prevent breaking and entangling by releasing a metallic strip produced at high speeds into a cylindrical guide drum rotating at high speeds, advancing the same forward spirally along the circumferential surface of the drum and taking it up on a recovery drum rotating at the speeds higher than those of the drum.
      CONSTITUTION: A metallic strip 4 produced at high speed and is carried out from a cooling roll 1 is released into a cylindrical guide drum 2 rotating at high speeds, and is advanced forward spirally along the inside circumference of the drum 2. When the strip 4 comes out from the drum 2, it is conducted to a bottomed cylindrical recovery drum 3 rotating at the high speed equal to or higher than that of the drum 2 in front of the same, and it thereby taken up spirally. In some embodiments, the drum 2 is made of a cylindrical perforated body, and air is blown through the multiple holes to keep the strip 4 under traveling in the state having no contact with the inside circumferential surface of the drum.

    • PURPOSE:To obtain stably and continuously a billet having a good shape by dipping a core material to which required curvature is given into a molten steel from above the molten steel by a delivery deice provided with a bending mechanism thereby sticking the molten steel to the surface of the core material. CONSTITUTION:The core material delivery device 4 provided with the bending mechanism 4 is disposed on the inlet side for dipping and the core material 2, for example, 3 mm thick steel plate, is dipped into the molten steel 7 in a molten steel holding furnace 3 from above and is pulled up while 500 mm R bending deformation is given thereto. The curvature is already plastically deformably given to the material 2 and therefore even if the core material is dipped into the steel 7, the core material has no tendency to the restoration of the original shape. The stable pass line is thus assured and the good billet shape is obtd. Always the prescribed curvature is stably given to the material 2 even if the thickness and shape of the material 2 change and the application of the dip forming method to the field of iron and steel is made advantageous.

    • PURPOSE:To prevent effectively and supply a billet from generating cracks and to send it directly to a rolling stage by making the billet, containing a specific amount of Mn, contain a specific amount of Ti and rolling it under specific rolling conditions. CONSTITUTION:An ingot or a billet just after continuous casting, containing >=0.50% Mn, is rolled by direct-feed rolling or hot-charge rolling. In this case, the billet is rolled within the temperature range of a cooling stage following after its melting and solidifying and under the rolling conditions of >=1 rolling shape factor (m) defined by the equation; where R: radius of rolling roll, h1: thickness of material at inlet side of roll, h2: thickness of material at outlet side of roll.

    • PURPOSE: To improve the smoothness of surfaces by blowing a molten material through a nozzle to the 1st cooling roll to cool the same, stripping the material as a strip, and pressurizing and cooling the strip with the 2nd cooling roll while the free surface side is at the temp. having deforming ability.
      CONSTITUTION: A molten material is ejected through a nozzle 5, and is blown to the circumferential surface of the 1st cooling roll, and is cooled quickly from the contact surface to form a sheet strip. This strip 6 is stripped from the roll 1. While the free surface of the strip 6, that is, the surface not in contact with the roll 1 is in the temp. range having deforming ability, it is brought in contact with the circumferential surface of the roll 2, and is pressed with a pressurizing mechanism 3 from the outer side or is pressurized with a pressurizing mechanism 4 sucking from the inner side. In this way, the strip 6 is quickly cooled from both sides and both surfaces are smoothed.
