    • PURPOSE: An antioxidant for rubber having excellent heat aging preventing performance, improved flexing resistance, and ozone resistance, comprising a specific dihydroquinoline compound and a dihydroquinoline polymer containing a specific ratio of dimer component.
      CONSTITUTION: (A) 6-Aniline-2,2,4-trimethyl-1,2-dihydroquinoline obtained by reacting p-aminodiphenylamine with an acetone at 80W200°C in the presence of an acidic catalyst is blended with (B) a 2,2,4-trimethyl 1,2-dihydroquinoline polymer having ≥25wt% dimer component in a weight ratio of the component A to B of 80W20:20W80, preferably 65W35:35W65, to give the aimed antioxidant for rubber. When the prepared antioxidant for rubber is used, usually 0.1W8pts.wt., preferably 0.5W5pts.wt. antioxidant is added to 100pts.wt. rubber (natural rubber or synthetic rubber).

    • PURPOSE: To obtain the titled compound as a stabilizer of high polymer such as plastics against light advantageously in high yield without requiring any special raw materials, by reacting readily available piperidines as raw materials with ketones in the presence of chloroform, an alkali and a catalyst.

      4 each represent 1W12C alkyl) in an amount of 0.5W2mol, further preferably 0.5W1mol, based on 1mol raw material compound expressed by formula I in the presence of chloroform, an alkali and a phase-transfer catalyst at -80W60°C, preferably -10W30°C, to obtain the compound expressed by formula III. The molar amount of the chloroform to be used is usually 0.5W4 times, preferably 0.5W2 times that of the piperidines and the amount of the alkali (usually the one such as potassium hydroxide) to be used is preferably 1.5W3mol based on 1mol of the piperidines.
