    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive surface inspection apparatus capable of suppressing expansion of an optical beam and improving inspection accuracy.SOLUTION: The surface inspection apparatus irradiates an outer peripheral surface to be an inspecting surface of an object to be inspected with an optical beam from a light source through light irradiation means, receives reflected light from the inspecting surface by light receiving means and detects a defect existing on the inspecting surface based on the light quantity of the received reflected light. The light irradiation means includes: a hollow rotational shaft to be rotated; a first flat mirror arranged on the center axis of an end part of the hollow rotational shaft; a second flat mirror arranged on a position separated from the center axis of the hollow rotational shaft and allowed to rotate synchronously with the first flat mirror; and a truncated cone mirror fixedly arranged along a peripheral direction coaxially with the hollow rotational shaft. A light beam from the light source is reflected by the first flat mirror, the second flat mirror and the truncated cone mirror through the hollow rotational shaft, and while moving in a circumferential direction, is applied to the inspecting surface at a fixed incident angle.

The lifter body 20 is provided on the inner peripheral part of a bulging part 21 with an inclined part 22. The outer peripheral side of the lifter body 20 is surrounded by a dies 31, while the disk 10 is fitted in the inner peripheral side of the bulging part 21 so that the inclined part is combined with the tapered part and thereafter the aluminum alloy material in the bulging part is plastically fluidized in the annular groove part of the disk by pressing axially the upper end face of the bulging part 21 to combine the disk 10 with the lifter body 20 for obtaining a valve lifter.
