    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydroxyalkyl methylcellulose which can be dissolved at room temperature of 20 to 30°C and has high thermoreversible gel strength during thermoreversible gelation.
      SOLUTION: Disclosed is a water-soluble hydroxyalkyl methylcellulose having a molar substitution of hydroxyalkoxyl groups of 0.05 to 0.1 and a substitution degree of methoxyl groups of 1.6 to 1.9, wherein the hydroxyalkoxyl groups are classified into substituted hydroxyalkoxyl groups having hydroxyl groups of the hydroxyalkoxyl groups substituted further with methoxyl groups and unsubstituted hydroxyalkoxyl groups having hydroxyl groups of the hydroxyalkoxyl groups not further substituted; and a ratio (A/B) of a molar fraction (A) of the substituted hydroxyalkoxyl groups to a molar fraction (B) of the unsubstituted hydroxyalkoxyl groups is 0.4 or greater.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydraulic composition for extrusion molding that can make a curing time shortened as it has a low setting retardance for cement, is unlikely to cause a thermal gelation even at high temperatures, and is excellent in extrusion moldability.SOLUTION: A hydraulic composition for extrusion molding is a composition comprising: a water soluble hydroxyalkyl alkyl cellulose; a cement; an aggregate; a reinforcement fiber; and water. Here, a substitution degree by the alkyl groups of the water soluble hydroxyalkyl alkyl cellulose is 1.2-1.7, the sum of the substitution degree by the alkyl groups and a substituted molar number by the hydroxyalkyl groups is 1.5-2.0, and a percentage of glucose rings that are not substituted by alkyl groups and hydroxyalkyl groups per glucose ring unit is less than or equal to 10 mol%. According to the invention, it is possible to shorten the curing time and to obtain a hydraulic composition for extrusion molding which is excellent in extrusion moldability even under a condition where a temperature of the composition is high.
