    • PURPOSE:To prevent a change in a white color on a screen by changing a clip level in response to a peak level of a video signal so as to always implement white clip to a high level input signal at the white level. CONSTITUTION:An input video signal is given to a peak detecting circuit 11 from a buffer 8 via a clamp circuit 9 and a time constant circuit 10 and fed to a control circuit 12 after peak detection. An average beam current from a beam current detecting circuit 14 having a function obtaining a beam current obtained from a flyback transformer 13 as an average beam current for each prescribed period is given to the control circuit 12. The control circuit 12 generates a signal to control a white clip circuit 7 by using the peak detection output and the average beam current as input information. In this case, a control signal is generated so as to implement white clip when a peak detection output of a video signal is large or the average beam current is large.

    • PURPOSE:To obtain a high-definition image by taking focus by one sheet of reference liquid crystal panel and aligning the positions of the other two sheets of liquid crystal panels with the position of the reference liquid crystal panel. CONSTITUTION:A means which takes the focus of one sheet of the reference liquid crystal panel and aligns the positions of the other two sheets of liquid crystal panels with the reference liquid crystal panel is provided. That means, infrared rays projected from a light projection part 16a are reflected on a screen 17 and the reflected infrared rays are received by a light receiving part 16b. Then, the angle (theta) thereof is measured and the distance (l) thereof is detected. According to the detected value, a servo mechanism incorporated in an automatic focusing device 16 is driven and the focus of a projection lens 13 is adjusted. The focus of the lens 13 is adjusted to the focusing distance of the reference liquid crystal panel 9R. Thus, the high-definition image that the focus of three sheets of liquid crystal panels is aligned.
