    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display that can prevent its numerical aperture drop even if the spacer particles are arranged inside the pixel electrode.
      SOLUTION: Projections 34 are formed as the orientation constraint means of the liquid crystal molecules 40 on the substrate 30 of a pair of substrates 10, 30 facing each other with a liquid crystal layer 40 in between. The projections 34 are made in a configuration that the spacer particles 36 are fixed to it to secure the space (cell gap) between the pair of substrates 10, 30. Thus, the numerical aperture drop is prevented even if the spacer particles are arranged inside the pixel electrodes.
